Building Learning Power
‘Building Learning Power’ (BLP) was launched at Parklands in March 2015. With the help of lots of puppets and props, the four learning powers were introduced to the children throughout the Sumer Term. The four Learning Powers we use are:
- Resilience – the emotional aspects of learning.
- Resourcefulness – the cognitive aspects of learning.
- Reflectiveness – the strategic aspects of learning.
- Reciprocity – the social aspects of learning
The concept of Building Learning Power was embedded throughout the school with each class creating a display of their ‘learning muscles’ and devising a ‘Stretchometer’ to illustrate the three working zones; the Comfort Zone, the Stretch Zone and the Panic Zone.
