PSHE (Personal, Social and Health Education)
Our vision for Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE) at Parklands
In line with our vision and values statement, at Parklands Community Primary School we aim to provide planned programmes of learning opportunities and experiences that help children grow and develop as individuals and as members of families and social and economic communities.
In our detailed session we are combining the PSHE education, Citizenship, SEAL and LGBT curriculums to equip children and young people with knowledge, understanding, attitudes and practical skills to live healthy, safe, productive, fulfilled, capable and responsible lives.
PSHE education, Citizenship and SEAL enables children to reflect on and clarify their own values, attitudes and feelings and explore the complex and sometimes conflicting range of values and attitudes they encounter now and in the future. The LGBT aspect teaches children about mutual respect and that it is not about what a person looks like or who they love that determines who they are. It is about being true to yourself and being loved for who you are that is the key.
The main key aspects of the curriculum are the British values, of pride, confidence, democracy, tolerance and respect, ensuring that children who attend Parklands Primary school develop into well-rounded and successful children of the future.
