Class Dojo
Dojos are points are awarded to children for a range of reasons such as showing a great attitude to learning, following our school rules, showing our school values, or achieving well in class.
We use Class Dojo as part of our approach to behaviour management. At Parklands, dojo points mean prizes. Children can ‘cash in’ their dojos for small prizes such as stationery, books, bouncy balls. They can save their dojos for bigger prizes, which encourages the principle of saving in real life. Additionally, children can cash in for prizes money can’t buy such as extra play for their class, playing a board game or having a dance.
When parents sign up for Dojo, you will receive an alert to tell you when your child has received a dojo award so you can celebrate this with them.
You can use Class Dojo on any device: it is a simple, free app for iOS and Android, and can also be used from a computer at www.classdojo.com.
You will receive your child’s student code and your parent code from school, with instructions for creating the account, which is as simple as downloading the app and entering the code.
You can find out more at www.classdojo.com or by speaking to your child’s class teacher.
