We work in partnership with families. From teachers to learning mentors, every member of staff works hard to build really positive relationships. We hope this page will be useful for new families. If you need more information, please get in touch and the school office will be able to direct you to the best person to support.
There are lots of ways for you to get involved with our school and our Trust, Concordia. For more information click the link here https://www.concordiamat.co.uk/support
Where should I drop off my child?
Gates open just before 8:40am and close at 8:45am. We expect children to come to school on time every day.
Nursery – at the Nursery classroom gate with a Nursery staff member.
Reception – at the Reception gate with a Reception staff member.
Years 1 and 2 – at the gate for them to walk in independently or at the classroom door. Please do not go into the classroom.
Years 3, 4, 5 and 6: We encourage children to walk independently to their classrooms from the gate but parents may wish to bring them to the classroom door.
What if I have a message for the class teacher?
All parents can phone the school office to leave a message for the class teacher or speak to them at the classroom door if it's a short message or nothing confidential. The office can be quite busy in the morning, so sometimes it's best to phone. Parents can also leave a message with the staff member on the gate which is usually our head teacher Mrs Cairns.
Parents can also message their child’s class teacher on Class Dojo
If you would like to arrange a meeting with the class teacher, get in touch. We're always happy to help.
Does school accept cash?
We do not accept cash payments for dinners, clubs or visits. These can only be bought on School Spider.
What equipment does my child need?
Your child does not need to bring in any stationery. Do not allow them to bring in toys from home. Pupils with additional needs may need to bring in some items from home; this must be pre-agreed with their class teacher.
Children should always have a jumper/cardigan and coat with them – even if they try to convince you they don’t need one.
We recommend everyone has a water bottle everyday. We recommend water rather than squash in water bottles.
Children should wear their PE kit on their PE day.
