Sport Premium and Strategy for promoting Physical & Mental Health

Statement on the use of the Sport Premium funding in order to enhance the quality and breadth of PE and sports provision

At Parklands Community Primary and Nursery School we recognise the importance of PE and value the contribution that physical activity and school sport can make to the individual child and our whole school community.

PE provides pupils with the skills, knowledge and understanding they need to become physically literate. PE at our school enthuses and inspires pupils to participate fully and develop a life-long love of physical activity, sport and exercise.

Sport Premium funding
This funding is ring fenced and can only be spent on improving provision of PE & sport in school.

Guidance from the Department for Education guidance states the funding should be used for:

  • develop or add to the PE, physical activity and sport that your school provides
build capacity and capability within the school to ensure that improvements made now are sustainable and will benefit pupils joining the school in future years
  • Schools with 17 or more pupils receive £16,000 plus £10 per pupil. The total income and a full breakdown of how this is spent is shown on the document below.
